



Tamarac is a small, quiet and “one of the newest cities” located in Broward County. You might be curious about the city’s name. Well, it was named after the successful chain of car washes called Car-A-Mat which was owned by Ken Behring, the founder and developer of what we now call Tamarac. It’s actually Car-A-Mat spelled backwards! It all started with a community of two-bedroom homes for older people and now established into an ideal destination for people of all ages looking for a good life. She has been a guest lecturer at Florida International University in Miami as an expert on the topic of “Online Advertising”. She has also been invited to speak on several occasions on the field of internet advertising both nationally and internationally. Gloria has worked as an internet multi-media specialist for The Blinder Group. Helping media companies generate millions of dollars in new revenue through highly successful and proven on-site sales training and facilitation programs that: have uncovered the most lucrative local multimedia revenue opportunities. She has worked with sales staff (and vendors) to plan, design, and develop multimedia sales programs for immediate deployment. She has trained sales teams to understand and effectively present successful multimedia programs to their advertisers. Gloria has also produced guaranteed revenue through “four-legged” sales training/coaching calls with traditional sales reps, closing substantial new business! Gloria De Jesus-Heck was the Director of Online Advertising for The Palm Beach Post (Cox) from 1998-2004. She managed the Sales and Operations for a nine-person team. During her tenure with the Post, revenue doubled. Gloria had been instrumental in developing a print-to-Web advertising solution that created a multi-million dollar new revenue stream. Gloria was part of the team that created to 2004 Newspaper Association of America’s (NAA) Edgie award-winning Real Estate Website and the Presstime Award for Best Practices in 2004 for the New Media category. Prior to joining the Post, she was the Regional Sales Director for Cox Interactive Media. She directed the sales activity for three offices and fifteen employees. During her time with CIM, she managed one of the largest revenue-producing regions in the company. She began her online advertising career in 1996 at the Miami Herald Publishing Company as the Online Account Manager. She worked closely with management in creating sales material; presentations and determining rates for the start-up Internet department of the local newspaper. She was personally responsible for generating 70% of the advertising revenue for the Miami Herald Online Services during her tenure. Before working in online, Gloria specialized in radio and television advertising in Los Angeles, California. She worked for over a decade with retail businesses and pioneered the successful efforts of local advertisers into the Hispanic market. Gloria recently worked for Hearst Television Corp.ABC Television affiliate in West Palm as a Media Consultant, where she was the top new revenue producer. Gloria was raised in Newport Beach, California, and studied History at the University of California, Santa Barbara and La Cumpletense de Madrid, Spain At present, Gloria is actively involved in the business of real estate as a Realtor with Re/Max ParkCreek, having consistently achieved in the 100% Club for Re/Max. Gloria resides in Parkland, Florida. She has been active in Girl Scouts and Junior Achievement.
